The blankets are handwoven Egyptian cotton. The weavery is a small family business, placed in a village outside of Cairo, the village is known for it's tradition in weaving. The embroidery is made inside the Siwa Oasis by the local women. This is a special form of embroidery called Crochet and is traditionally what the woman use to decorate their headwear.
The embroidery is made of viscose silk. When you buy this product, you contribute to women’s independence in a very conservative society.
